Here's a quick mockup of the old station with some of the tiles included. Station hall and station building are station tiles, although separate from each other to allow for custom placement, and all tiles for decoration purposes are eye candy objects. Attachment:

Very nice! There is only one danger with that beautiful eyecandy and that is that one wants to place so much that the station doesn't have any catchment area anymore

Yes well... the 1x1 buildings placed next to the larger station building, (2x4), will likely be coed as station tiles as well, as they're part of the station - but to allow for a custom design to some extent...

A couple of joined bus tops in front will do the trick.

Good work! Are the stairs by the front entrance leading to an underground pass?

Been working some more on this station and its other parts prior to my OpenTTD experience, and this is what I got so far; Attachment:

Anything that could be improved?

The only comment I would have is about the electronic information boards, there is something that doesn't feel right. Either the size relative to the other things (they seem a bit big relative to the benches and the "static" information boards) Or the placement above the lights, it seems too high. And maybe it's a combination of both.... How would they look if they are placed on the same hight as the lights? So no lights on that pole, just the information board? Or maybe the lights should be a couple of pixels higher, so they would be higher than the board.
EDIT: I think the very first drawing you posted of that station has a better looking board to me, the thick black lines of the newer version makes it look a bit "fatter" So maybe that version a bit lower on the pole in combination with higher placed lights.

They are roughly the same size here in Holland. Maybe then it is the dark black that makes it feel a bit bigger compaired to the other eyecandy, although you may need that color to have it stand out to the other colors of the platform. Designers Dilemma Still, I feel that having it higher than the lights seems wrongish. It is a bit difficult to find pictures of swedish stations in a short time (as I don't speak the language), but I managed to find this: And it looks to me that they are either lower or the same hight as the lights.

The placement of lights as far as heights concerns, may actually be different from station to station... but to be honest this is something I didn't had an issue with myself, but since you mentioned it I can't of course get it out of my head... I'll wait and see what opinion my Swedish "colleague" may have on the matter...

As far as I can remember, most Swedish stations have the information boards roughly about the same height as the lights. But I wouldn't consider that a scientific fact.. I can't really decide what I think about the size of them though, could be a bit big. Could be just fine... SAC wrote: Anyway, here's an overview of the concept with the station so far...
Looks like the railing on one of the stairs is a bit off. Attachment:
