Been looking into some ideas for the 1x1 tile Industries. make it so it be ready for when 64 cargos become available.

Hope to work on the farms next .. just have a few buildings and farm house to represent the type of Farm it is. No crops and maybe just 1 tile with livestock to represent what animals it has.

Disable where the farms automatically start showing crops every where.

Make station tiles and object tiles to replace those crops.

Already have cargo away livestock pens so wonder if I should make cargo aware crops?

Could 6 tiles be used?
1. Grassy tile
2. Dirt tile just been ploughed.
3. Field green in patches represent things starting to grow
4. All field now green
5. Green with some yellowish (or what ever colour would represent the crop) look as if starting to ripe or in flower.
6. Full tile of yellow or what ever colour represents that crop best.

But trouble with that idea as players be collecting the crops even when they are green and that might be unhealthy.

So maybe only 2 tiles be needed. Just 2 and 6. Dirt tile represent no grain available and next showing crop ready to be harvested.

With the introduction of 64 cargos we can had a longer chain of cargos.

At moment in my Industry set take wheat to silo and wheat again to other locations.

Could livestock be split into individual types.

Start at Sale yards:
Lambs and take these to farms to produce Sheep. Sheep go to shearing shed to produce Wool.
If sheep to go to Abattoirs maybe be called Mutton.

Calf goes to farms become COWS for dairy and Cattle for a Beef farm. when ready to go Abattoirs can be called BEEF.

Piglets become pigs and later HOG.

GRAIN, WHEAT, OATS, BARLEY, CORN HOPS, and some other types of Grain.

Maybe all start as grain at the farms and taken to a SILO. Here it produces Wheat, Barley, corn, maize etc.

INDUSTRIES that I think can be reduced in size.

FARMS:

DAIRY FARM in my country have the cows, corn fields, sugar cane (or both) and vegetable gardens. So a dairy farm could be represented with a Farm House, Milking Sheds, maybe just one tile with a few dairy cows on and a tractor .. then you add the live stock pens, crops using either Station tiles or object tiles.

SHEEP FARM .. house and a few sheep. Shearing Sheds I like to have them separate so take sheep there to be shorn and produce the wool.

MIXED FARM .. house, a few livestock and some buildings to represent what crops they grow.

They a few ides I thinking of.

Could do that too . was also thinking removing the through road so players can have a actual road through the village.

Appreciate all ideas.

Thanks

Started working on the Industry where we build our own. Or at least make the Industry that is there bigger.

The game file at moment is called AuzInd2019 it has both Industry and object tiles in the one file.

Did 7 farms so far. Each has two items a house and one other tile to represent what type of farm it might be.

Farms-2.png

I've spaced the 2 tiles apart so to make it easier to add objects and to be in range of train station Truck Loading bay or what every transport you use.
The 7 farms in image above are (l to r, and top to bottom)

Agriculture Farm .. house and Silos
Arable Farm .. House and shed
Cattle Station .. house and breeding stock
Dairy Farm .. house and herd of dairy cattle .. the pen is designed to connect to the Dairy Sheds.
Mixed Farm .. House and Sheep
Sheep Farm .. House and Sheep
Vineyard and Winery .. House and shed.

So far only made objects for the farms.
You will find crops, buildings, fences and some machinery so far.

When I finish adding the objects to help extend the farms, will start on the other Industries.
This image is Canola and vegetable Crops.

This is one farm I made up to test some of the things I done.

Has a thunder box, barn and a new fence I designed.

Intend to build a shed t put the machinery it.

The farms that have cattle .. I think I will change cargo it accepts to GRAIN and have some grain fed beef.

Also wonder if should add a Chicken farm .. or would that be a bit fowl? They can accept Grain to feed the Chickens and produce Livestock (chickens) and Food (eggs)

If like to test here the game file.

All this talking about food, so for lunch today I had 2 slices toast, fried onion with tomato mixed in it, bacon with a little bit of cheese melted on the bacon and two fried eggs sunny side up. It was delicious. :P

Now that your ladies are listening maybe you better go make some for yourself and them.

Enjoy

Yummy! I envy you. We have to treat ourselves German and Dutch* garbage. Hurry up Garry and let your farms produce quality Australian food!

With the above I do not want to offend our Northern friends (Nowadays most Greek meat products aren't better either): You have to taste Australian farm meat to understand what I mean, not the European mass produced tasteless industrial crap.

*Last week we bought Dutch pork. I asked the lady at the super market to cut it for grill. She replied that this part of the animal would be a bit hard. Was it? No! It was as soft as chicken. And tasteless like eating white bread. I remember decades ago when I was a kid and my mom fried or grilled pork when we were on vacations in her village. That divine smell would drive me home running!

Sound like they don't feed and look after their animals properly.

I found when have pork and looks a bit tough boil it for 3 minutes in water. It removes most of the fat from the meat and makes it more tender. Can add some vinegar or some other flavour to the water as well.

Let it cool and make some batter .. use some vinegar, soy sauce or some other marinate in the batter then dip the pieces in batter and fry. Might even be better then what your mum used to do.

Cheers pal

Thanks for tips.
Companies mistreat animals they do not care about them as farmers do. A Greek milk producer had his contract not renewed from a major Greek dairy products company because he was feeding them his own produce (pure plain corn!) and the company wanted to force him to feed them their "approved food": read food imported from other countries (of questionable quality) by a company controlled by them. Also production of dairy products is far greater than the milk produced here in Greece! And these dairy products are branded as Greek and exported! and vice versa: you may buy German cheese or yogurt from ... Polish milk! Lidl sells Cypriot Peanuts with the flag of Cyprus on the package and the back of the package reads that the nuts are imported from a S American country! So much corruption in EU.

Sounds like a lot of corruption their in your country.

Some farmers might need to be dishonest labelling their products so they can survive from th corruption.

Sound like some of your companies marking the package as if imported, but actually using their own stuff just so they can make a living still.

Our livestock get fed grain but they also free roaming to eat grass as well.

I like the animals to eat the grass, save me eating my greens as already in the meat and milk

We have items here that say product of Australia. It might be packed in Australia, but the contents are often imported. If read the fine print it will show where contents come from. They just make sure Packed in Australia or Product of Australia is in big writing.

Cheers pal

Isn't "Product" a dishonest label? You may say a PC is a product even when all of its parts come from other countries but call peanuts a xxx product when they only added salt and roasted them? They are still peanuts after all. Damned Capitalism! :x
I am going to open a grill house in Australia and have in the menu Australian steak. I will import them from China and salt them so I am legally covered!

If you want peanuts go to Kingaroy in Queensland Australia.

They grow heaps there. When harvested store them in these Silos till ready to use.

Be enough peanuts in those silos to send you nuts.

China buy Australian beef. So you probably end up with Aussie beef from China. :)

You going to use Aussie salt? You can mine your own salt from the Salt lakes in South Australia.

Cooking steak in peanut oil that would give it a nice taste.
