Those crossed wires between the crossbeams of the lifting span make those crossbeams not looking too good in my opinion...
Maybe just leave those out, or drawn them under the crossbeams…

Regarding your question over at the other forum:
Quote:
Done some research on those bridges .. when first build and when ships sailed up those rivers the lifting spans were painted white. But these days ships no longer sail up those rivers and trains and trucks now carry the cargos, so lifting mechanism and cables been removed and now just the wheel and the metal work still remains and all been painted grey. Not sure yet if leave them white or maybe one of the bridges paint the metal work grey.

I would keep it white for the Dunmore bridge, as that looks really good with the other white parts.
For Hinton it could be grey, although as white it also looks really good with the rest of the bridge..
It is nice for diversity, but if white looks best, stick with that ;-)

They do hide some of the nice lattice works to the cross beams don't they ..

Shall have a look tomorrow see what look like when removed.

White is original so will stay with it.

Finally did the train ride to Dungog today ..

There some lovely old rail and road bridges there.

I've seen photos on the internet and using Google Earth of the bridges at Morpeth and some other locations, but I wanted to visit on in person to get close up shots.

The Cooreei Bridge over the Williams River is the same design but without the lifting section

The wooden decking as been sprayed with bitumen over the wood, and the railings and girders show a lot clearer how the metal supports are fixed. Also has those angle metal support brackets going out to the side.

I was able to go underneath the bridge and get some lovely shots of the pylons.

Looks like I got a wee bit of redesigning to do.

After eating some cake it help me concentrate on bridging.

I changed the structure to the Wooden Trestle Bridge to look like the Dungog Bridge shown in posts above

and I added street lights to the Road Urban Skyway bridge.
