GarryG wrote: When I do start working on them again like to try make fake suburban stations with buildings and parks over the top. This is similar to what OzTrans did with the Canadian Station Set's Gare Central Station. A question of terminology: The station is real. The "fake" stuff over the top are not so "fake" as much as they are an actual part of the station while depicting non-station features. "overhead structure" would probably be more appropriate than "fake". If your intention is to use objects that are independent of the station and are built from a separate menu, then "overhead station objects" would probably be more appropriate than "fake". Note that such objects applied independently of the station are very prone to glitches when trains move within the station or when the z-extent of the bounding box of a station structure extends up into the object.

Hi Wally,
You is right what I should have called them .. they will be stations so "overhead structure" would be more appropriate.
The Car Parks I did over head thinking of lowering these a level too so they same height as the hills.
Maybe playgrounds, parks and maybe sport ground might look better above the platforms with some stair ways to the platforms.
Just the catenary wires annoying .. but have some ideas for these.
Be a while before I get chance to work on them some more as while I got my apprentice interested in the train sets will keep him at it.
Cheers
Garry

Here where I up to with the Subway Stations. I added another track to my AuzTracks .. it is for electric trains but has no catenary showing. Attachment:

Apart from someone stole some bricks on the fences, the underground station is under all these mowed lawns somewhere. Attachment:

Also a minor alignment issue bottom left section with the bricks. Here the Station Set needed: Attachment:

But they been done in 2 different languages .. stations are in NFO and objects in NML?
Otherwise might been nice idea.
Cheers

Cheers I think it is possible. You need to talk with some NML guru though. Keep in mind that NML is just some upper level language that simply makes the code easier to read. The whole thing is built on top of NFO because NFO is the specification that makes things tick. With all that said, objects are probably the easiest for learning NFO coding.

Can make the Livestock pens to only have sheep, cattle or pigs, or you can design it so have some of each. Now I working on Car Parks. I be redesigning my car parks so they will match up with the CS Station Sets. These be the sprites I be working with to see what I can come up with. Attachment:

Been brought to my attention that some of the GRF files I released on Bananas is confusing to know which one are the newest.
I never looked before as I always copied my files to my game direct. But I did look and yes they are right .. it is confusing.
So what I in process doing is all the ones that are older I putting the words *** THIS GRF IS OBSOLETE *** in the contents.
So when you Check Online Contents and click on a file
.. to the right in "CONTENT INFO" in "Description" if the file is old it will have the words "*** THIS GRF IS OBSOLETE *** "
Hope this helps you find the newest sets.
Cheers

With winter coming on here though power stations might need some extra coal .. so made some Coal Stock Pile cargo aware tiles. Empty: Attachment:
Coal Cargo1.png [ 154.05 KiB | Viewed 7000 times ]
Full: Attachment:
Coal Cargo2.png [ 148.69 KiB | Viewed 7000 times ]
Use only if you had some experience in lego or construction working. These come in single 1x1 tiles and need to build the space for the coal. Can only be 2 tiles wide, but as long as you like. Stare with End tiles A and B than use C and D as many times you like and finish off with E and F. Hope you like.

Seeing if I can reduce the number of footbridges need for each platform type. Most stations I seen the footbridges are to the side of the platform, not on the platform unless the bridge is at the very end. Like at Awaba for instance. Attachment:
AwabaFootbridge.png [ 475.35 KiB | Viewed 6900 times ]
So come up with this idea. Attachment:
NewFootbridge.png [ 46.69 KiB | Viewed 6900 times ]
Just one design for all platform types. This I hope will free up a lot of IDs to make room for some other bridge types. Island Platforms will be the problem . still might need each platform with the bridge.

Do you use an extra tile 'outside' of the station (platform)?

I using the Overlap Non-track tiles that Quast65 sent me .. and extended the bridge in the Overlap to Back section so to stop the glitch.. Only problem found to far it the platforms with the Catenary poles and awnings as the awnings are a bit high. Will put the thinking cap on for a bit to plan the bridges for normal and Island platforms. Attachment:

Those sign boards on the platforms must be helium powered. The one at the far end of the far platform seems to have come loose and is floating above the crosswalk.

Improvement to footbridges .. it has taken me a few days to get them how I think they should look. Attachment:
NewFootbridge-3.png [ 12.27 KiB | Viewed 6870 times ]
The platforms either end are not included. The stairs to far left and far right will go beside the platform as a non-track tile. This will allow a choice of platform types .. could be any of those I made or from any other station sets that others have designed. The draw back for those who like to add a Island platform like in the pic. Island unfortunately I will need to make these for all my platform designs. They not be suitable to use with other sets that others have designed. I looking at several different footbridge designs. This old look with a picket fence. The old design with extra lights along the bridge section. The old design with a more modern fence and lighting. New design footbridge with concrete pylons and 2 types of fences. Hope in next few days start coding these and see how they work.

Coded 2 new bridges so far. Attachment:
NewFootbridge-4.png [ 43.45 KiB | Viewed 6869 times ]
The stairs at far end are 1x1 non-track tiles and stairs with the bridge section at front are 1x1 non-track tile with 1 overlap section. The bridges with stairs facing NW and NE will be a challenge. Need to see if can make some sprites with a 1x1 non-track tiles and 2 overlaps to the back. Will try some more another day.

Making new addition to station sets. This Coal Stage based on one at Broadmeadow, Newcastle, Australia where I used to work. Attachment:
CoalStage3.png [ 73.72 KiB | Viewed 6827 times ]
The locos are not fake ones. Shame when this is released that engines can not detach from train to go to the coal stage. The coal stage is in sections so can be made as long as like. Also choice is want with or without the hopper. I've split the stations sets into the following groups: AuzStations_Part1 AuzStations_Part2 AuzStations_Part3 AuzStations_Part4 AuzFreightStations AuzMoreFreightStations AuzWaypoints A big problem I have is I forget to add the changes to the Change-Log File Also made some Waypoint Catenary to go with my AuzTracks. Some railway stations have the stairs in more than one direction so I trying to do same. Attachment:

I might enter the next Olympics as getting better in fencing. Sydney is progressing along good too. Attachment:
Sydney Platform 2.png [ 69 KiB | Viewed 6727 times ]
The platforms just there to help me align things. A bit to do near clock tower and improve the graphics a bit with it. The dome has a problem as covers up all the nice work I done to the buildings. So I making it all in sections so players can make it how they wish. The sandstone section some locations it is extra floor high which I yet to make. A The right wing I need to re-do. Hardest part is suppose to be wide enough for 10 platforms. The platform still have a parcels office to had and allow the area for parcel dock platforms. Seen the Indian Pacific at Sydney yesterday split on 2 platforms. Platforms 1 and 3. Platform 3 had 10 carriages and 18 on platforms 1. So hope when I finished trains that length will fit and with that new Shunting OpenTTD being built hope to do a overlap platforms at terminal ends so can run locos around the trains. Guess that will make the terminus fairly wide as has 15 platforms plus 4 parcel docks. And than have 8 suburban through platforms. 23 platforms in total and below platforms 22 and 23 are 2 underground platforms. Hope I can make the lot. Cheers all
