Due to the loss of focus of the current discussion this topic is no longer about my Carbon Bridge which will recieve a new topic of it's own.

Due to a need to focus on other things I will not be replying to this topic for about a week or so.

Cirdan mentioned that there is actually room for 16 slots and he could activate the last 3 in NMF.
This has been done.
The Windows 32bit binary as well as a new and improved Carbon Bridge for slot 16 are here.
Also, TrueSatan has a Linux release just below my post.

Time for a progress report.

Behind the scenes Cirdan is doing some excellent work "under the hood". :bowing:

I now have four bridges of my own, one with an obvious and interesting feature always available yet never tried. 8-)

With a little help from a friend, my code is a lot cleaner and manageable. I like "manageable". :)

I now plan to have two bridge sets:
1. My own grapics.
2. Guest contributions.

This topic will remain for general bridge disussions.
There will be two new workbenches in my Atelier, one for each set.

On an unrelated topic, you may have noticed that doikdi and I shared the win for the latest tt-forums screenshot contest featuring Headquarters. I will be releasing the ones you saw in my entry before too long. 8-)

2. Guest contributions.

Purno drew some nice (Dutch) bridges a while ago. I dont know what license your set will have, but his graphics are all GPL. Maybe you can find some inspiration from those...

License:The underlying code (NFO and Assembly) is open source and has been so since its inception and is freely available within the NewGRF Specifications.
The graphics are provided separately via spritesheets and are licenseable by the artist(s).
It is quite possible this project will have a mix of licenses depending upon the contributing artists.
I will not be editing the graphics.
Artists will be provided with a layout to follow.
