Sometimes reading a reference or a specification just doesn't cut it.
Sometimes it requires a little more detail, perhaps with an example or two.
This is where a good tutorial comes in handy.
Sometimes a good tutorial will have the answers to your questions.

Do you know of a good tutorial? Perhaps you have written one and wish to share it.
Tell us about it. You can send me a PM with your suggestion and I will arrange for you to have access to post it.

Maybe a video of the basics would be handy.

I seem to learn more from watching someone who knows what they are doing then reading technical written tutorials

I know there are loads of video tutorials for modding games to learning blender its a much easier and more interactive way to learn.

I'd make one but i need one to learn how to do this Grf stuff first haha. ill try my best with the text tutorials

by the way this Simuschool is shear genius

This is finally going to get me the know how on making this Grfs

:W hats off to ya !

I bet it would but somehow I don't think it would be quite like a how-to on how to rebuild the head-light motor on an '86 Fiero GT. ;)

It's that old chicken and egg thing. Maybe when you get the hang of GRF making you'll come back and do us up a video. 8-)

Whoa! Between you, Leanden and Athenasios, this forum is going to need a day care center. ;)

Let's keep it simple to start. The default paint program included with Windows is actually quite sufficient for the time being.

There must be somehing viral going around. My own PC has announced pending hard drive problems. My files have been saved to DVD and I am now in the process of setting up shop on my lappy. 8-)

ive tried fixing it, tried reinstalling vista (dont have another copy of win7 sadly) but its all goes well upto a point when the windows updates just start getting errors and wont install and its getting very hot to the point of burning my leg even with a cooling mat lol.

sh**e acer laptop anyway

The day care sounds good lol. well we all have to start somewhere and getting info from TTD forums is like getting blood froma stone. i get one link and thats it post is repeated over and over lol

Well if we can get traine dup to do this with the standard set on simuscape im sure its all to an advantage to uses.

Think TTD needs some fresh blood

Very hot? Check:
Fans (turning? have dust?)
Special 'paste' between CPU and cooler may have gone dry? WARNING: do not remove cooler unless you have new paste.
Capacitors swollen? When capacitors reach their end of life they become swollen and finally they explode. If swollen then they and motherboard overheat. Google can be your friend: 'swollen capacitors'.

fans are ok, ive compressed aired the vents and fans. replaced the cpu paste (thanks forgot to check that) never had the laptop apart before im a decktop guy myself.

as for the capacitors they look fine.

checked forums about this laptop overheating and my model is concided to be very bad for it. i may modify the casing to use my cooling mat as the laptop base with the three fans sucking the air of the mobo then out the back.

got a mate that probs could do that at is work, ill ask him.

Is it a HP by any chance, last year HP issued a product recall on a whole batch of their laptop batteries due to them having a tendency to overheat and explode, it may be worth checking if your batteries serial number coincides with the batch they recalled, If so they will replace it free of charge.
