:x Yea the third time this year we were asked to cast our vote and waste public money. and the results? :fuck: The same like the first ones (with differences in the range of 1%): Same first party, same PM, same coalition: SIRIZA (Left party) + ANEL (a Patriotic Right party):

New Democracy second (:Liberal/Capitalist Right party), Golden Dawn (: Nazis) third-what a shame for Europe... and LAE (The ones that disagreed and didn't vote the 3rd memorandum and formed their own party but without removing their support to the government-what a d******* is our PM to lead us to elections for this reason alone.) out of the parliament :sorry: guys you tried but most of those who cast their votes (a lot preferred to go fishing or swimming instead of voting...) are complete idiots. Tomorrow they will bang their heads on the wall as the real opposition now (ND party will vote yes for almost everything) is in the hands of the Nazis and the Communist party.

The only highlight of the elections was the success of Centrist Party. He managed to enter the Parliament after 25 years of efforts!!! And I say he because it is a single man's party:Vasilis Leventis. The cranky guy who for 25 years was talking all day long from his private channel about politics. Finally he did it! :W Poor fellow, had met the ridicule and fierce opposition of the system. Apart from his channel he was blocked from all private media. He may be a bit nuts but he foretold with the minute detail that our country would go bankrupt decades ago and provided solutions that can work. He foretold the bubble of the stock market 3 years in advance, the shutdown of the National TV 2 years in advance... Even the disagreement in the leading party and the elections! And even he almost fell in when he said that the leading party would have a 5% difference from the second whereas most polls were giving less than 0.5% difference. Even exit polls 1 hour prior to the first official results were giving 1.5% difference. The difference was finally ~7%. So congratulations.
Here comes a cult video from ages ago when the then government attempted to shut down his channel and he started cursing everybody:

And a parody:

I sort of gather you're not all too happy about the results... :P

Sometimes democratic elections seem to me to be worse than dictatorship.... For example, that gave the right to run (again) for mayor to our former one, who took 13 years of turning our city into regional village of some sort.... We finally got him out by holding two-month protests, and less than two years later, democracy grants him right to nominate himself for a mayor! Since then, and till this October, I pray almost everyday that the normal citizens wouldn't let him go even close to that.
athanasios, didn't your people invented that system some time ago? :P

Democracy is the dictatorship of a plurality of those who vote. If the block of those who choose not to vote or are prevented from voting, is large enough, then that plurality can very quickly become a minority of the eligible electorate. The only remedy is a constitution that sets out unambiguous limits upon the governing plurality.

Nope. Ancient Greeks invented Democracy, not Parliamentarism. In Democracy you propose and vote for laws not for representatives that vote for you.
wallyweb: Excelent post.

People are either disgusted or don't have the money to buy tickets to travel to where they vote.
