Haven't done any thing to any projects for a few days as Shingles getting better but giving me the s**ts. Because they on my right side and my back make it very uncomfortable trying to sit at computer and hard to concentrate. Doctor yesterday say the pain should be gone in about a weeks time. Hope he wrong and it go sooner. Cheers pal Garry

I got myself wrapped in the Fake Overhead Wires in the AuzFakeRailwayLines_Add-ons at moment.
Can I have another week working on them and then I get back to finishing the bridges.
Hope get back to do the bridges Monday next week .. that is the last week and Monday of this month.
Hoping to head to Sydney soon. Go for a train ride Cardiff to Sydney and visit Australian Railway Historical Society see what archival stuff I can get hold of. Take my camera with me and get a few photos of the journey so can use for future projects and maybe improve some graphics on things I already done.
Cheers Pal

Hi Wally,
Thank you for your addition to my problem over in the other forum.
Hope someone can answer that.
You know the strange thing is .. if the problem is because of the number of strings used then why do I get the "undefined string" messages depending where I put 2 of my NewGRF files .. if I put these above other objects sets I get that string message for almost all objects sets below my files. If I remove the WAS aircraft fil .. all the undefined string messages disappear.
If I put WAS back in and move my files to the bottom of all the NewGRF I only get the undefined string messages in my last file. At moment I am getting 3 undefined string messages in my files. I did the Auz_Water_Objects and now I doing the other larger file AuzFakeRalwayLines.
See what happens after I do this .. one good thing is I learning more about NML with these errors. Also found out when I make the sprites no need for separate sprites for Purchase sprites, and if the sprite not need snow, it too can be left out.
You would thing if reached the limit of strings used would get the undefined string messages and same amount no matter where I put my files.
What a bumma having this problem it delaying me finishing the Fake Railway Lines and getting back to bridge building.
Cheers pal
Garry

Not so many strings attached seems to allow things to work better. Maybe they should change some strings to ropes or cotton maybe that would help take the strain away from all the strings. Have to give me another week now before I get back to bridges so can catch up on the fake railway lines and the overhead wires. Cheers pal

Hello Wally, How's things there .. liked your screen shot and the bridge .. was the trestle a object set of yours? I think I can start on the bridges .. before I can do much more on the object sets I need to do a few train rides to get photos of infrastructure. Didn't go on Tuesday as weatherman said we in for some storm so I stayed home .. the day stayed dry and sunny .. bumma. Got a medical appointment in morning and if it on time, hope to visit Broadmeadow where I first started on the railways in the locomotive depot. Like to get some picks of the 75 ft turntable and loco sheds. Next Tuesday will head Sydney way again. This the bridge I working on now.. It iron plating mainly found crossing over roadways and small creeks. Attachment:
Auz_Rail_Iron.png [ 24.59 KiB | Viewed 7146 times ]
The bridge will have same structure from tile 00 and all those in between to far end to 01. The road bridge will be simular except the iron plating will be replaced by brick on top of steal beams. Other bridges I working on it the wooden bridge. Cheers pal Regards Garry

Yes, it is an object in my bridgeset. It's still a work in progress. Your iron plate bridge looks good. A thought for your turntable. Do it as an object height 7px with the track blank. Then it can fit under a bridge and players can have real trains crossing the table. I hope to get back to the bridges on Friday or Saturday. Best, Wally

wallyweb wrote: A thought for your turntable. That sounds a good idea. probably only need the on and off parts of a bridge. I been playing around with the Locomotive Roundhouse from the Modular Locomotive Sheds Set. The turntable included in that set is to short for a Beyer Garratt to fit on. Hence why I want to get pictures of the 75 ft turntable. Also Like to re-draw the sheds to match the ones at Broadmeadow. Take off the doors and stick a few locos in the sheds. Also need to make some sheds longer to fit the Beyer Garratt. Anyway that my dream at moment making a round house as a object and place it on a 6x6 or 8x8 sprite set. Make it first and then see if it can be actually used. Cheers pal

Hi Wally, this is what the 75ft turntable might look like when finished. Attachment:
75ftTurntable.png [ 5.7 KiB | Viewed 7140 times ]
Long enough to hold a Garratt and double headed diesels. Still need to work on the round pit the turntable sits in. Making it 7 pixels high sorry to say not look good. See if can work on rest after I do the wooden bridges. Cheers EDIT: Not sure if can display a pic of the turntable and roundhouses so here a short cut to see it https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... ntable.JPG

Hi Wally,
Still working on the wooden rail bridge as not satisfied with what I done at moment .. I think I can improve on it.
When I used to work on the North Coast line was lots of wooden bridges, short ones and long ones and some reasonably high.
One I remember when doing pilot working riding in the cabin of locos between stations. One wooden bridge was fairly high and long and when the engine went over this bridge it seemed to drop a bit and rock back and forwards as we crossed it. Quiet scary first few times I did this ride.
Any way today I had a look at that bridge in real and it no longer a wooden bridge .. it a lot like your urban bridge but the pylons not as wide as your bridge. I couldn't find any wooden rail bridges in my travels today .. those I knew were wooden back in the 70s and 80s been replaced.
Cheers pal
I still do the wooden bridges .. but also hope to do bridge like I seen today.

Hi Garry, Sorry for the delay. This laptop has been giving me fits. Random lock-ups and hard reboots are a good excuse to have to start a current job from scratch. The lock-ups like to happen just before I hit the enter key to save my work. The turntable looks good. I have some thoughts to help you get it done. I'll try to get some screenshots in before the next lock-up.

Hi Wally,
No hassles about the delays, hope all ok with laptop .. if keep doing it see if a external keyboard will do the trick.
I been slack with the wood bridge and the rest of turntables and loco sheds. Just not able to get it looking the way I want .. so I go away from it for a day or so and come back for another try.
Never got to the loco depot to take photos due to bad weather the day I was going to go and not had chance to try another day yet.
I hope to finish the slope aware for terrain tiles today. Maybe the break doing the terrain objects will help bridges and buildings look better when get back to them.
Cheers pal

Been side tracked again . Do you think our bridges will withstand water rapids Attachment:

Seeing if I can do some creeks with white water rapids and just maybe the creek slopes make them look a bit like waterfalls. Water flowing very close to one of the pylons of the bridge .. just hope it don't cause and structure damage

No longer need to try to go up that famous creek in a canoe without a paddle. By time I finish be able to flow down the creek instead and hang on for dear life. Cheers pal See here for what I doing viewtopic.php?f=171&t=812&p=11863#p11863

Hi Wally, I haven't forgot you .. just being delayed with problems players are finding for me in some of my object sets. When these problems are reported I like to fix straight away otherwise I will forget to do them. Also got ask to include red rocks in the landscape objects. Doing those red rock side tracked me into looking at idea of Canyon Walls. Attachment:
Canyonwalls1.png [ 32.13 KiB | Viewed 7069 times ]
I think canyon walls look better then the rocky slopes .. wondering now if I could change some of the rocky slopes to look like rock walls too. I working on the creeks today .. with lucky might get the flowing waters finished. Then try make some rapid progress on the rapids. Also see if I can finish off the canyon walls and make some transition tiles for them. So that the new version of Auz_Landscape_Objects and Auz_Water_Objects can be released. I hope those changes will finish those to sets and not need any more added to them. I know you said you be ready for my bridges before Christmas .. but was that the Christmas almost here or did you mean the one after Cheers pal Garry
