AuzObjects

[EDIT: Feb 6 2018:

NEW OBEJECT SETS ARE IN THE MAKING .. SEE LAST POST THIS PAGE AND POST ON NEXT PAGE/S.

Is a combination of Auz_Lineside_Objects, Auz_Roadside_Objects, Auz_Water_Objects, Auz_Landscape_Objects, and AuzFakeRailwayLines.

Those five file are getting to large and complicated. Running out of room to add more to them. So I going to split them up into several smaller files so easy to find and allow more to be added. Hope this will also make it easier for you to decide what you want loaded and what you would not use in your games..

So that the original files will always be available I be renaming the new sets.

At the moment the sets are:
AuzObjects_Electricity (at the moment has sub-stations, power poles and wires, and telephone wires)
AuzObjects_BridgesAndEmbankments (has Fake bridges, Embankments and Culverts)
AuzObjects_FakeRailwayLines (Fake railway sidings .. basically designed for scenario building so can map out where you intend railway lines should go. Also good for game play as also has fake sidings with rolling stock)
AuzObjects_Farms (Has farm buildings, animals, farm machinery and some vehicles (trucks))
AuzObjects_Fences (Has variety of fences suitable for town, farms, and security fences to place around business etc)
AuzObjects_Landscape (Has a variety of landscape, terrain tiles and fake rivers, creeks and lakes. Most are slope away. If your plating Temperate and like a little snow on those high mountains, or maybe some of your hills want more rocks.
AuzObjects_Rail (Has signal boxes, water towers, coal stage, fettlers sheds, stations, and other buildings and infrastructure that you will find associated with rails)
AuzObjects_RecreationAndLeisure (Has Golf Course, Cricket, Caravans, Tents and log cabins)
AuzObjects_Roads - (Has fake UK roads that run north-south and east west and also Rest areas. I intend to add some other road designs and anything else that is associated with roads).
AuzObjects_Towns - (Here I putting houses, shops and other buildings you find associated with towns and cities .. when I get a good collection here I hope to use them to make a Town Set)
AuzObjects_WaterFeatures - (Has Wharves, ships (sailing ships and fishing trawler .. will add more), Dams and Storm Water Drains .. will add more objects associated with water).

If any one would like to contribute to these sets your more then welcome to send me your ideas and designs.

Going back through the forums there are many projects started but never finished. Some have just one or two objects that they made and never been used. If these are you projects and like to see them put to use, please send them to me or send me the link to your project and permission to use.

Started adding new Fences.

Some countries have stone fences, so here is my attempt to make a stone fence courtesy of OpenGFX + Landscape.

If like to test what I did so far with the new NewGRFs here is 5 of them.

Before these get to Banana will wait till I finish the other sets and then I like to add something new to each set before officially releasing them.

In the previous version of AuzFakeRailwayLines I have a coal stage, water tower, goods sheds and some other buildings. There are already some of these in AuzObjects_Rail so be no need for 2 lots. So I hope to transfer these to AuzObject_Rails.

From memory and a good look at photos of the coal Stage that used to be at Broadmeadow NSW, Australia hope to alter the Coal Stage to match it as close as possible. The Coal Stage at Broadmeadow had at one end a place for Locomotives to load sand (I know this as I shovelled sand from a 4 wheel wagon into the ovens for heating before the locomotive used it), and a short distance beyond the coal stage was a de-ashing pit where they dropped the ash into a 4 wheeled wagon underneath.

The old house comes with its own Thunder Box (sound affects not included).

Want to give these a try here's a sample.

I like the idea and the colors/texture, however I do feel that the stones are too big.
This size is ok for embankments etc, but I think for these kind of walls they would be nicer when smaller.
Try reducing them by 50% and then make at least two rows (or 3), that may be more realistic...

Noticed a crack near the Thunder Boxes ;-) (pun intended  )

Fixed the cracks  .. that should stop the leaks.

The houses are from other sources thanks to the fella who made Chips, FIRS 1.4.3 and ISR.

The 2 story house original was bigger and had another room making it too long for a single sprite, so I go renovators in and removed that one room and then got them to remove the top floor.

See what other buildings I can find and make suitable buildings from them for a town or country use.

Cheers

I count 4 pixels height (2m). Usually in our country they are shorter (1m), but inside villages they may be higher (to block eye view~3 pixels).

But IMO Garry shouldn't remove them:
1 Garry can easily add a shorter version.
2 Rich people would be very happy having such fences protecting their villas. ;-)

Any chance to also add a recolored version (more reddish/brownish from the dust) for dry lands?

Thanks for replies concerning the stone fences .. gives me something to work on now that given ideas and some pics.

I will keep the tall one and see if can make some fat short ones.

After I do that see if can take them out side when next dust storm comes and make them a bit browner

Where I am upto in splitting the NewGRF files.

Just got the FakeRailwayLines to do for splitting into other sets. I moving the budilings to the AuzObjects_Rails amd make separate set for the for rolling stock and calling it AuzObjects_FakeRollingStock.

That should pretty well complete the sets .. not sure if to also split the water ways such as rivers, creeks, Lakes, and storm water drains into their own section too.

Watcha think :)

Cheers

I made all the AuzObject Sets and ended up with 12 sets .. wayyyyy tooo many for those like me who like to have lots of NewGRFs in their games.

So I made a set called AuzObjects_LandAndWater and in this I put the Electricity, Recreation and Leisure and Water Features.

Now the sets are:

AuzObjects_BridgesAndEmbankments
AuzObjects_FakeRailwayLines
AuzObjects_FakeRoads
AuzObjects_FakeTrains
AuzObjects_Farms
AuzObjects_Fences
AuzObjects_LandAndWater
AuzObjects_Landscape
AuzObjects_Rail
AuzObjects_Towns

Fences are a small set, but fences can be used in many areas so will keep that set separate for now.

I made all the AuzObject sets .. all I have to do now is start adding new objects to them.

I did these Locomotive Workshops today .. you will find them in the AuzObjects_Rail.

The Workshops can be made and length and width you like.

In the Transport Tycoon Forum I made available each set separately .. not thinking to zip them all up into one bundle like I done here.

Details of each set have a look here: https://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php ... 7#p1181100 or read the Changelog files in each set.

Seeing if can do a set of Safeworking and Telephone Wires to follow the railway lines.
Attachment:
Safeworking and Telephone Wires1.png

Those how have see the telephone wires that do follow the railway lines often has masses of wires. So I think this will be suitable to represent those.
Problem I having is the overlap when it goes over another object .. the post sits on top of the other object.
Attachment:

Also done a set of carriage and DMU sheds that cross 3 tracks .. they can not be placed side by side, but can be made as long as want.
Attachment:

It is based on this pic of the Carriage and DMU sheds at Newcastle NSW Australia.

Can cross over the railway lines if like.

As added some telegraph wires and can be used as dummy sections with McZapkie's WIRED.

Wanna try?

Remember these are telephone wire not electrical .. don't want you suffering from a short circuit.

Not sure when I be putting on Bananas as still a few things like to do with some of the other sets first.

Practicing fencing ready for the next Olympics.

Been back to the stoneage and had a go at making fences 3 pixels high and 2 pixels wide. Was a long time ago as moss already starting to grow on the rocks.

Did some old weatherboard fences too.

Going to have a break from objects for a few days or so .. seeing what I can improve in the Industry business for a while.

Now fences look better. Cool idea to add moss.

Weatherboard fences look a bit tall and out of scale with the building. But with 2 pixels available for width, cutting 1 pixel from their height might not look so nice. :?: I am puzzled.

Not sure of height of weatherboard fences in other countries, but in Oz most where 6 feet.

Tall enough to allow you some privacy in the back yard.

Reducing by 1 pixel would be a nicer height, but it will take away the looks of the back of the fences with the cross rails .. make them to close together.

While I ponder on those ideas, I playing around with the Industry set and see if I can understand any of the coding.

Cheers

I'm back working on the object sets ..

Making lots of changes ..

Will remove any thing that is in the AuzObjects_Rail that can be converted and placed in my AuzStations sets such as Signal Boxes, Goods Shed, Loading Banks, Station buildings.

Reducing the number of AuzObject Sets.

AuzObjects_Farms and Auz_Object_Fences been converged into one set and bow called AuzFarmAndFencesObjects.

AuzObject_FakeRoads and AuzObjects_Town converged into AuzRoadAndTownObjects. Sporting, Camping, Electricity Wires, Power Stations and Sub-stations and Overhead car Parks all in this set now.

Made a new set with the help of McZapkie called AuzCreekObjectsMS and hope to put all objects associated with water in this set.

AuzObject_Rails and AuzObject_FakeTrains will be one set and called AuzRailObjects.

Be a few other changes in coming weeks .. will update this again soon.
