The Maritime Collection (MariCo) set is a collection of "objects" (eye-candy), including harbour infrastructure: moles, breakwaters, piers, docks, fake ships, harbour buildings, loading appliances, fake port railway, etc.

For downloads see below.

The new MariCo version 0.32 of december, 14th adds another significant number of new objects and offers increased potential to use them in game:

- port rail depot/maintenance shop
- tracks on (old) quays
- access ramps for old quays
- 4 new trains for quay tracks
- "ships at quays" also with tracks on quays
- backside views for port rail depot
- 1 more "ship at quays" (modern trawler)
- improved algorithm for port rails offside quays
- automatic buffers for port rails on quays

Version 0.32 is upward compatible with version 0.31 or before.

The set is accompanied by the usual donotreadme, available in English, German and French. It can be downloaded from my site, or here:

In case of technical problems (or bugs) with this set, please report them here.

Michael

Nice little warm world here with curves on rails-even though those rails are fake!
And the extra ship adds more variety.
Thanks Michael!

One can always tell when something "smells" quality even before entering the doors, as when Michael adds something... :W

Since a couple of days, the new MariCo version 0.33 is available from here:

Quote:
v0.33 (Jan 1st, 2016):
- added tracks for all goods sheds on quays
- added straight tracks on concrete ground
- added loading facilities for bulk freight (coal and iron ore)
- increased lifetime for objects

Should be bug-free for now. In case if not, please recall.

regards
Michael

I saw it in action, looks really nice. Should the port rail train too move somehow?

You will make happy my friend at Piraeus Port. Needless to add what is his job. ;)

And we would be more happy if this could be implemented on 'real' ships. Is any programming guru listening :?:

I'm working on some EMU's/DMU's at the moment but it's a bit slow for now as I'm first and foremost focus on my OpenTTD entry, that is preparing the map, (I'm actually copying over my TTDP cities onto the OTTD map allowing me to continue where I left of)... and on top of that I have to complete some of the .grf's I want to use for that, and I'm awaiting Wally's help to merge some of my eye candy grf's out of his busy schedule, and I don't want to rush him seeing as there's always real life to consider - as always of course... :)

But I'm slowly getting there, especially since a new Swedish Train set is essential for my overall gameplay experience... :)

SAC, always good to hear about progress! :P

On another note, next step in MariCo will be support for liquids and grain. ATM, I´m working on a number of different tanks, see picture (WIP).

Do you plan to add other sizes and/or colours?

For the tanks? Yes, o/c. There will be smaller ones (for edible products) and a large type (on 2*2 tiles) for crude oil. All of them differing in colour.

Michael

You have completely re-worked your rails?

Yes, there´s already an additional rail set coming together with the next release of the DBXL train set, called DBrails. It contains (only!) 5 track types: branch line, branch line electrified, main line, main line electrified, and high speed line. All of them are a lot narrower than original track (looks much better). In fact, together with Snail and dandan, we´ve set up a complete new scheme for track gauge (broad, standard, narrow, 'Feldbahn').

In addition, the rail set not only includes custom depots, but also a method to make them "longer", by providing extra "waypoints" which fit the view of the depots, see attachment.

Only in this way, you could fake "longer depots", i.e. not using objects, or even station tiles.

regards
Michael

Interesting indeed... :)

I have already modified my own rails with the purpose to make them less thick, but I'm sure there are room for even more improvements...
