I use top right for my buildings. Fairly straight forward for buildings. Ran into a lot of trouble when drawing a mountain peaks, as there are many more slope angles.

So make some more WAS is open to sprites drawn by other artists, and they have greyscales of each plane so you just have to paint the liveries on.

So the Sun comes from different directions depending on who you are? That is confusing, but I'll work to what seems right.

Lol people have different ideas, but following the original game graphics, the direction is consistent.
And as for learning the code boohey, afaik if you just submit graphics to them, they will code it into the set for you.

Not sure if it's possible to implement something that sort of "darkens" the in-game screen. Then the only thing a graphics artist would have to do is to also include some "yellowish" windows for buildings, and lights for streets, automata, and the sort... Not that much work really...

what would be cool and night/day cycle, id like to see maybe a cloud filter that makes it look like cloud shadows rolling over the countryside abit like the one off CnC3 its like a filter that runs over the top of all the map. you will have to look on youtube to get what i mean lol maybe not a cycle more a switch so you can switch day on to build because it would be quite hard at night lol Attachment:

Simutrans has a day and night mode, but IMO it is ugly. The problem is that you have shading in the sprites and to do a nice transition you need sprites without shades. You would need to slit the sprites to surfaces and shade appropriately each surface from the game engine depending on the time of the day. Quite complicated, a lot of artwork cutting and coding. Wouldn't 3D be a better solution? [Of course 3D currently is not possible due to hardware limitations.]

I do hope you don't usually draw with your wrist though... No, but seriously, I hope you get well after all... A bit of bad luck I suppose... Do cheer up and enjoy life and you'll get better in no time...
