Off-the-rails-topic-drift: I took a friend to the emergency room tonight because she believe she has a stress fracture in her shin bone on her right leg. The doctor came in, asked questions, took an x-ray, and said he'd be right back with a splint and a prescription. Two hours later, a nurse comes in and: 1) repeats the drug allergy-related questions that were asked during admissions 3 hours prior, which means her medicine is not yet ready 2) doctor mistakenly reported that we were transferred from an urgent care center, but didn't state which one, instead of reporting that we came in to the emergency room 3) doctor reported that injury was a shin splint (muscle pull) instead of a stress fracture on the shin, even though he agreed the symptoms did not match a shin splint, as confirmed by a previous consultation with friend's younger brother & athletic trainer for an NFL football team 4) instructed the nurse to bring a bandage wrap instead of a splint 5) instructed her to treat my friend's left knee instead of her right leg I openly asked the nurse if the doctor even had the correct patient.

Luckily they didn't rush her into the operation room to remove her appendix. At least she isn't a male to fear that they would remove some more valuable stuff!!! - I remember when I took my mom to a private X-Ray center for CT (She was hospitalized in a major famous public hospital but directed her there for a better CT scan) and the doctor watching the CTs coming out said "Your father..."
